Great looking animal... I think. It would be better if you got the camera a little closer next time so we can see the peoples faces and the animals horns, OR.... crop and paste the good stuff and leave out the wasted shots of the bushes on either side. Just a suggestion. AGAIN... a great looking deer.

You asked for it, so here it is. I went out to the stand with a little over an hour of daylight left. This stand was virgin this year, but a good buck producer in years past. On the way to the stand I was very conscience of my movements and scent control. About 200 yards from the stand I started putting Tinks 69 on my boots, and refreshing every 25-30 yards. I got within 35 yards of the stand a buck gets up and heads to the corn about 40 yards away. I can see he has a pretty nice spread, but that is about all I can tell. I walk about 20 more yards and a doe jumps up and heads into the corn. I proceed to the stand and am a little bummed with what happened. I know the time of year though, and hope for the best. I look from my stand and can see the buck was laying about 5 yards from the stand, and the doe about 15 yards. I sit down and am ready for a nice evening. I wanted to wait about 20 minutes before I started to rattle and call. I was scoping everything out when I saw this buck come out of the corn about 50 yards away in the timber. He continues to get closer, stopping and looking around every 5-10 yards. He comes inside my 30 yard mark and I know it is game on. I had seen the height of the rack and thought he was a shooter. He then turned his head and I could see he was only a 6 point, but what a 6 point. I thought about passing him up, but I have been so busy at work lately that I am not sure that I will have many more opportunities at a nice buck. He comes to 18 yards directly down wind of me and I lay it on him. The muzzy broadhead ripped through the first lung, the bottom of the heart, and the bottom of the other lung. He runs back to the original place I had seen him and lays down. I was very excited. I am just sad to see the season end. His
G-2's are 9 inches, brow tines are 5 inches, and his spread is 17 inches. His bases are 5 inches, and his circumferences are 3-4 inches all the way out. He also has around 19 inch main beams.
