Whats the best wood to make a longbow out of?

What is the besttype of woodif i want to make a longbow? Are there any tricks to making one or is it pretty much just carve it out? Any advice?

I have heard Osage bows are great..I have a bunch of osage trees on my property and am considering working on something after the hunting season as a hobby.
