Amazing..

Although, you didnt hit below the Spine, you hit above it. THe lungs go all the way to the spine..So if you would have hit below the spine it would have died..

I have personally witnessed a buck hit lower and a little farther forward than your buck in the photo. The arrow was protruding out of both sides of the buck. He was messing with a doe. I watched him for around 45 minutes. It would appear from a tracking job and a search that he also survived.

While I respect your opinion, I firmly believe you are incorrect. Seeing first hand where I shot the deer, I am totally convinced that I hit him BELOW the spine. I also have looked at some deer anatomy illustrations this week, and those seem to confirm my belief of a shot below the spine.

The good news, is that this past Saturday, my brother saw the buck at 50-60 yards away. With his binocs, he could see the wound, and the deer was acting totally healthy and normal.
