Default acorns

who here knows the difference between the acorn types? I believe that the deer have eaten most of the white acorns (big suckers). I think I have found what appears to be a white acorn and red acorn grove tha tis dropping. the acorns I have found are small and darker than the others. the ones I think are smaller white acorns are just that, smaller, yet almost of the same appearance. I have to get a book on how to identify different trees. anyone have any tips?

Hey hoyt3, the Red Oak acorns are shorter and much fatter than thinner more elongated White Oak acorns if that helps.
