Default Just my luck....

Hey guys, havn't been on posting much lately but I figured that I would let yall know how things have been going here in good ol PA. This is by far the best season I have had as far as buck activity. I have passed well over a dozen bucks up just waiting for one of the good'uns.

This morning we had a low pressure front come in and I decided to head out. It was about 37 degrees out with a steady rain and winds between 10-20 mph, overall a crappy day to be in the woods but I still gave it a shot. I put out a little doe estrus urine just to see if the bucks are getting curious. At around 7:45 a.m. I look up and see legs comming off the gas-well road and down the trail towards me. It was a little 3 pointer, he followed the trail down to the scent and then walked past me at about 3 or 4 yards. About 10 minutes later I see another deer doing the same thing so I get ready and here comes another little buck (6 point), I let him pass by at 3 or 4 yards and sat back down. I figured the activity was over but I still decided to wait. About 45 minutes later I look up and see another set of legs doing the exact same thing, then I see a decent rack. The buck walks down the trail and I notice that he is just a 6 point, probablly 17"-18" wide with pretty good tine length, just missing both brow-tines. I let him walk knowing that the next few weeks are only going to get better.

This evening I decided to head to the same stand but on my way in I thought about sitting in my ground blind about 85 yards from this stand. I figured that I had seen the three bucks in the morning from the stand so thats where I would go. I sat in the stand until it was just about dark out and I climbed down. While walking out I have to walk past my ground blind and sure enough, when I got close I saw 5 deer (1 buck 4 doe) take off from about 15 yards in front of the blind. The buck was "ripped ear", the buck that I have tons of pics from throughout the summer.

I get home and realize that at some point the fiber optics on my pins all broke so now I can't hunt tommorrow morning (I'll be taking the TR off and putting my CJ on and sighting in). Hopefully everything goes smooth with that and I can hunt tommorrow evening. I'll keep ya'll updated and congrats to all the guys who have tagged out!

Great story Jason ,I'm having a very similar situation here as well,I've seen lot's of deer and I've passed on 7 so far ,but mostly doe's.I've passed on a spike as well .But today I finally got a look at a couple good buck's that I plan on seeing again before the end of the season.I put down a mock scrape and a dripper with Wildlife Reseasrch #307,but so far I've had no activity with it ,but it has only been down for 3 day's ,I've got it inside the bush from a serious rubline ,so I'm expecting something to happen theresoon [I HOPE].I think it's too early to get discouraged with it since the rut hasn't started here yet ,but thing's are changing fast because now I'm seeing buck's, 3 buck's today, 1 coming home from work, and 2 in a field below one of my treestand's in which I chose not to hunt this evening for another spot along an Alphalpha field which I hadn't hunted yet this season .My buddy has been seeing lot's of deer there, so I went there tonight ,I seen deer ,but not close enough to have a decent look at them and the daylight was closing fast . Thing's are about to get real good here. I'm holding off for a respectable buck,I'm not taking any little guy's this season .

Dude, good to see you around. Glad to hear your season is productive. Sounds as if you are seeing plenty of animals. Hopefully you can help out your team this year!! And maybe I will also.
