Any of you see any chasing activity this past weekend ??

I was out Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon ( Southern Tier ) and I saw one 8-point (Sat. in the rain)and two spikes (Sun., no rain), all threechasing doe. I think things are starting to pick up.

What your seeing is chasing as a small percentage of does come into heat early and according to the charts this year a minor chase phase will occur from 10/18-10/24 these does will be bred from 10/24-10/30 all this occrs after the harvest moon which was 10/17 then the major rut will start around 11/12-11/17 major seek and 11/18-11/24 major chase,this is the time the big boys will be out running around.If you spend the time in the woods you will notice alot of this is true.There are alot of other facters that will affect this-weather-pressure-etc so it depends on where you hunt.good luck mike LI NY

Just got back this afternoon from hunting since last friday. No sign of any chasing as yet that I can see. Doe are still with their young. I didn't get a doe permit this year, so I just watched the show from 18 yards out.
Passed on a small crotch horned buck as well. No sign of any big bucks yet!! Halloween should be the start of some serious action though!!

I have noticed a lot of activity on the parkway's and we've been seeing alot of deer movment late into the morning.
