God I hope so.[:-](But don't count on it due to licensing etc.)

Terry,
Am I reading you correctly that you think this bow is 26.5" ATA length?
The max draw length is 26.5".......
No I meant 26.5" draw length, thats my draw exactly. Have you actually seen these bows or shot them ?

RE: So who wants to hear about the 2006 Bowtech "Tribute" ??

O'man, this just doesn't look as ifit's going to be as easy as last year deciding on a 06 bow.
The Tribute, Allegiance and Tomkat, they all ring my bell. It's now whatthey feel/shoot like with the choice of modules for the fast or smooth performance set up.
What are we looking at for 'center shot' on the 06 bows, distance from the riser. Last year I had difficulties getting center shot with the NAP 3000 (not enough windage adjustment on the rest).
How about the 'vane'clearance from the cables? Do we need to change the cable guide again on this year modles?
The grip--low rise--wood/rubber?
Any color changes to the 'Swirl and logo?
Max 4 camo-- Matt, will the new camo colors be termed as special order colors--meaning some extra $$?--and the MO the standard color--I guess.

Hmmm, the Tomkat surely looks appealing to me. I was just about ready to buy an '05 Tomkat.

Matt,

When will dealers be able to start ordering the '06 lineup? Before end of hunting season on 1/1/06 (in SC)?

Thanks for the info!

Does that make me credible.;)

Just a question, is the IBO speed on the Equalizer based on 60# at 26.5" and a 350 grain arrow? I would presume that it would be, but wasn't sure.

Zac,
No, since the Equalizer model only comes in a peak weight of 60# in order to maintain the IBO standard of 5grs/lb of draw weight the speed reflects a 300gr arrow.

5 X 60 = 300
5 X 70 = 350

Any idea on when target color constitutions may actually ship? Is this going to be a wait until spring of 06? This is going to be my pick I think, however want to know if I order first week of November, will I have it for spots season that opens towards the end of December?

Rick,
I obviously can't give you exact ship dates but they are Wayyyyyy ahead of where they were last year with regards to ability to fill orders.
You might want to check with your dealer ASAP. The "Official" release date is tentatively scheduled for Nov 1 but your dealer might be able to accept and process orders right now.
The "Chrome" finish will have some lead time from what I understand so you can expect a longer delivery time vs. an in house camo dip.
1st come first served so don't dilly dally.
By the way the 2005 target colors are also available for the Constitution so there are actually like 800 different color options for that bow! :D

I'm probably going to be shooting the "Clear" chrome riser w/ black chrome cams so pick a different color.;)

I'm going to shoot the chrome riser for huntingso I can blind the deer before I shoot them. :D

So they will be shipping to dealers starting Nov. 1st? Assuming the dealer has placed an order? I may have to order a Tribute and get it setup in time for the gun season and late archery season. ;)

RE: So who wants to hear about the 2006 Bowtech "Tribute" ??

My advice to anyone who wants one of these bows like "yesterday" is to consult with your local dealer on order times, availability and possible ship dates.......no way I'm guessing on specifics and having that bite me in the butt.

I do know the goal is to stay up with orders as they come to make everyone as happy as humanly possible, because there is no more impatient and testy creature on the entire planet than a guy who just plopped down $600-700+ for a new bow. ;)

Now I know why you parted with your Constitution......and that was what encouraged me to wait. Anyhow, I will be trying to find a different dealer this time, and hopefully will get an order placed soon. I will probably be ordering through the guy that owns Jimmy Desparts new shop. I may jump on the black marble, or maybe last years black pewter, we will see. I honestly don't know what color I want right now.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up for me Matt. As good as the Equalizer looks to a short draw like me, I think I'm gonna stick to my original plan and go with the new Allegiance. 26" draw at about 290 fps sounds pretty sweet!!

On a side note, it will be interesting to see what Crackers can do with one of these babies!!!

Matt,
Sorry for all the questions but I'm getting excited here. Getting back to the equalizer, are you saying that those bows are producing those quoted speeds at 26.5" DL or are they estimates of what a 30" 70 lb bow can do ? I guess that makes no sense ( IBO specs ) since it does not go past 60 lbs or 26.5" DL. I'm guessing those figures would be actual BC speeds for a 26.5" DL 60 lb model ?

Terry, since I think I've finally got it figured out, let me take a stab at it. The equalizer is rated at 26.5" draw and 60# draw weight, but the arrow weight is reduced to 300 grains since the bow is a 60# bow. If I figure it correctly, as compared to the Allegiance:

Equalizer = 302 fps @ 60# and 26.5" draw w/ 300 gr. arrow

the same setup with the allegiance would yield approx. 300 fps

thats taking the ibo rating of 335, subtracting approx 10 fps per inch of draw takes it down to 300 fps at 26.5". Then reduce that speed by 17.5 (1.75fps/lb) more fps due to the decrease in poundage (70# down to 60#) your at 282.5 fps. Add back in the 17 fps to account for the reduction in arrow weight (ie. 350-300= 50), and you come up with 299.5 fps.

No where near scientific, but it should be pretty close.

RE: So who wants to hear about the 2006 Bowtech "Tribute" ??

A quick question steming back to the question about changing out cams on the 05' alleginace to the 06' modular cams.

Are the riser and limb geometry the same for the 05' and 06' models of allegiance? Or did they completely revamp the alleginace for 06'? If they are the same I don't see any reason why they wouldn't interchange with each other. Might have to also buy new limbs????

Also, how smooth are the fast modules on the alleginace?

WOA!! I've been hanging out in the technical forum too much (where I thought I'd see THE NEWS).. This is a shock to see thatmy Allegiance has been "one upped":DOh well, I want a target bow now anyway;) Matt, are the target limbs still going to be carbon fiber colored or will there be options there also? I'm thinking about the Blue Old Glory and the dipped black marbel limbs:) Tell me it's possible:D

Looks like aGREAT lineup with a very good aray of options for everyone!!

I feel sorry for any dealers with left over 05's hanging on the walls. Once the word spreads about the 06's features the 05's could be collecting dust for a while.

Adjustble draw length & draw curve modules, now were talking!

Yeah, I really hate to see the Patriot (with the Infinity cam) being turned out of the stable... but to your point, that may make for some really good pricing on what's hanging on a dealer's shelf still yet.

Wow. I'm extremely shocked and dismayed about that. Don't know why they would want to go from a 32" to 30" on their longest bow. Doesn't make any sense to me.

This is not a good development.[:@][X(][X(][:@]

Come on now SA, you know how listed specs are. That brace height might turn out to be more like 7.25 instead of 7, especially if you don't have the limbs cranked all the way down...;)

Rod,

I feel your pain and must admit that the lack of longer draw lengths on most of the bows discourages me as well. I am sitting here debating whether to go with another Old Glory or a Tomkat. Guess I will wait and see what the Diamond line looks like first. ;)

I've heard from Len and others that for accuracy, there is no beating longer ATA's, and I would figure heavier bows would be heavier for accuracy too. But they keep coming out with light, short ATA bows. What's the deal with that?

Maybe this may sound lazy but from a "convenience" in portability standpoint the short bows are tough to beat. Granted, we are only talking about 5 or 6 inches of length here but, mentally, that seems to make a huge difference to me.

New short draw, high performance model called the Equalizer.....302 IBO speeds at 26.5" and 60#! It will be available from 23-26.5" and 20-60# and only weigh 3.5 lbs. This is no kids bow........it's a true adult big boy bow for the short draw length , low draw weight crowd.
If these numbers hold true I will be shocked. I get 275 fps out of my Patriot and that is at 27"..........this would add almost 30 fps at 1/2" shorter draw.

I hope those are right.........I really saw nothing from Bowtech last year worth considering replacing my Patriot. This will get a close look from me this year.

John,

Already asked.......still the draw stop peg. You gotta try the Sims strip though, you will be surprised. It adds just enough for some give while pulling through with your back, without adding the need to creep tune the bow. I didn't really realize the difference the sims strip made under the peg until I shot a buddies APA Taipan (basically an infinity cam, they share a lot w/ bowtech) and how hard and sudden the wall was on his bow, it made mine feel.........fairly spongy. You gotta try it, you will be surprised.
