OK, I am not a tech person, so at 26 in and 60 lb, will you end up with more speed from the equilizer or an allegiance?
I'm not an expert by any means but my guess is that these 2 bows will be pretty close to equal in terms of speed at this length. If you lose 10fps per 1" of draw length you'd lose 40fps on the Allegiance which would put it in the 295fps peak range. Only the Equalizer you'd drop 1/2" which I would assume equals a 5fps drop. So you'd be in the 298fps peak range.
Jeramy,

I don't believe you are quite comparing apples to apples. I believe you would also have to factor in the 10 pdf change from 70# for IBO ratings, for the Allegiance,to the 60# for the Equalizer to make it an apples to apples comparison.

So from the last couple of posts,it seems like there's not much difference between the allegiance and equalizer at 60 lb 26 in draw then assuming you are shooting the same arrow thru both?

Cabbage......This might give you a better idea:

My 05' Allegiance came in shipped at 318fps 30"/60#/300gr arrow.
This equates to a "Smooth" rated 06' So add another 8-10fps to that to get an idea of a "Fast" version of my bow.

You're looking at maybe 327fps or so
Knock off 3.5" of draw length and you have a 26.5" version of my bow doing about 292fps.
It's hard to do direct comparisons of 70# rated models to a seperate bow rated at 60#.
My guess is that the Equalizer will be about 6-8fps on average faster than an Allegiance of the same specs?....I won't know for sure until I play with them but that's how the numbers play out on paper.

The purpose of the Equalizer was not to compete with the Allegiance but to pick up where it leaves off........taking care of the people with shorter draw lengths who want full size performance and a lighter package to keep up with the long arm crowd.
They don't want a watered down "Youth or Ladies" bow.......they want a real bow that fits their needs in mass weight and draw length capabilities while having true high end performance.
There isn't another bow in those draw lengths / weightsthat will touch this one.

Thanks for pointing that out Bill. I didn't even think of the difference in draw weight. ;)

Thanks Matt,
That's what I was trying to find out. I am a 26/60 and want to make sure I get the optimum performance with the limitations I have with my draw length. It sounds like the equalizer will be a little faster for us short draw vs the allegiance. Thanks very much for the info.

The MSRP for the 2005 Allegiance is $749. I would expect the 2006 MSRP to be somewhere in the range of $779-$799. You can usually find the bows for a $100 or so under MSRP for a bare bow. I would expect the cost of the tribute would be in the same range as the Allegiance.

Yep, if I had to guess I'd say $650-700 for a 06' Tribute or Allegiance. Add $50 if you want one of the new camo options.
