I would like to tell everyone about a DVD I just watched. I wish someone had this out when I started bow hunting 18 years ago.
It is by Hunter Specialties called "So...You Want To Be A Bowhunter" This video teaches everything for a veteran bowhunter and for someone just about to get started about bowhunting.
Featured experts Bob Foulkrod, Pat Reeve, Ralph Cianciarulo, Dale Larson, Mark June, Steve Puppe, Greg Miller, Wayne Carlton, Stan Potts, Alex Rutledge and David Pierce, I think I got everyone.
They share tips on choosing arrows and broadheads, proper draw length and weight, good shooting techniques, proven practicing habits, hunting strategies, scent elimination and much more. About 2 hours long.
I plan on buying my kid 8 year old a Genisis bow to start him out shooting next year and I am going to sit with him after we get the bow and watch this video together and when we get a hunting bow we will watch again.
For me I plan on watching each year just as a refresher course.

The title sounds kinda silly but it really is a pretty informative video. I just started bow hunting last season so I bought any book, magazine, video, etc. that I could get my hands on just to try to learn as much as possible. If I'm not mistaken I think the video was only 7 or 8 bucks. Definitely worth it.

Can you give me an idea of where I can get a DVD copy of this? My son who is 12 and I love watching these together. We recently rented "Giant Antlers" on DVD. It was really educational. I generally read and watch just about everything on bowhunting deer. The "Giant Antlers" DVD taught me a few things I never even heard of. For example, following a blood trail. Some of you, or perhaps all of you, may know that the little drops of blood that follows a big drop of blood will indicate which way the deer was traveling - the exact opposite of a tail on a comet. That was news to me,I've never heard that before.
