Default Help out a new bowhunter...

Hello all,

Looking to start up bowhunting, gonna buy a package from Hunter's friend, but I'm currently torn between the Browning Rage One:

and the Fred Bear Element:

Which one do you feel is the better choice?

I am a fan of the bear element. So i would go with that one.

Scull, either one would work fine for deer hunting. If I were you, I would go to a shop that carries both, shoot both and buy the one you favor.

Also, if there's not a major difference in price and the folks at the pro-shop seem to know their stuff just buy from them. It's a good thing to have someone close by for any help you may require in the future, the kindyou just can't get at this forum, if there is any such thing.

Parker Bows offer quite a decent variety of bow packages for very reasonable prices. You should have at look there first.

between the two packages I would personally go with the bear element.
I think it's a better all round hunting package,IMO.

Browning Rage One is my definite choice. I have one and love it. I can outshoot people with more expensive bows. A bow is only as good as the shooter. I think you'll love that bow and vouch for it.

Just go to the pro shop and find out which bow is best for you. Handle lots and see which one suits your shooting style and fits you best. I like PSE and Browning myself but don't know of too many bad bows.
