Titleist,
Welcome to the forum. I'm from upstate NY also. I'd love to know what course is yours since we try to hit the links as often as possible.
Ditto what everybody else has said. You got permission, the other guy isn't the owner, etc etc. I say hunt and be merry.

I say hunt the land you have permission. Dont worry about the other guy, he will just have to deal with you, because you have permission.
You exausted all your means to talk with him. Just go hunt, and do your job as a sportsman.

I would tell this jerk to stick it. Get out there and hunt that land, forget about him. He feels he needs to be the only one getting deer off that land, fine. After you kill your deer, save the heart, package it up and send it to him. This way he'll have a piece of the deer too.

Hunt it. Hunt it hard!
Here in Illinois we have a law on the books that makes it illegal for anyone to interfere, interrupt or spoil any legal hunting activities on public or private lands. NY most likely has something similar.
Have him stick that in his pipe & smoke it.

Thanks for the replies and opinions guys. The treestands are up (and locked down) and I feel really good about a monster buck from what I've seen scouting the area. I think next season I'll just buy most of the land from the farmer who doesn't hunt it or grow anything on it anymore anyway. Then see if he'll still post my property.

How can somebady post land that isn't even his in the first place? I can't see any legal ground here. The landowner has given you the keys...open the door and hunt!!!!

Yup
I agree here also.
This guy doe's not seem to want to compromise!
Sounds like a meat hunter !
I to am from N.Y. (fulton)
and have run into his kind before..
So he only hunts during gun season ! Big deal thats when the deer will be running allover anyway,so why should he be to concerned, there will still be plenty for him at that time..
Good luck.
