In all honesty I probably don't look as often to the left, right and behind me as I should. That is probably why I don't suffer from the same malady as yourself. I try to actually focus on just one broad area as my stands are typically positioned so that I can only get a shot from such an angle. If that makes any sense.

I hunt 25 ft to 30 ft up out of climbing stands. When this high the deer don't pay much attention to your movement. I often stand up and stretch look around and then sit back down. I have stood up with deer directly under the stand and drew the bow without as much as a look up from the deer. Also helps keep your scent down.
