YUP, I'll probably shoot it like he's 20 yards. He should drop right in there. You can't kill them if you don't shoot. I don't care if it was a little basket rack or a doe on doe days. If I'm going to shoot I'll shoot. The size of the rack has nothing to do with it.

I took this shot and didn't take into consideration the tall grass. The grass took enough energy out of the arrow and deflected it which resulted in a wounded buck. The arrow struck him low in the hind missing the femoral artery. 500yds and aempty bed with a small amount of dryed blood was the ending. So from experience I say NO,it's just not worth the risk of wounding one.

Oh Hazcon. I sure do hope you get another chance at that guy. We could really use it for our team. Do not feel too bad about it. I did take a simlar shot about 15 years ago at a big body buck but not a huge rack. It was using a very slow bow. The buck actaully did turn before the arrow got there and I hit him too far back. Never found him. Still feel bad about that one today.
Anyway good luck finding him again.

Yes i would take the shot. even though you said the buck was on looking at you, at 25 yards he should be a dead deer.
I would also aim low, anticipating that he would tryand jump the string.

the problem is you think to much, some times you just need to go with your gut, when a once in a life time oppurtunity presents itself, we must and i mean must take the chance, because when reality sits in, we probably won't see that oppurtunity again. anyway good luck with your future hunts and don't be your self up, just enjoy the adventure that you had.
