Tree stand safety
#1
Many places have started their bow seasons with others about to start. I just wanted to remind everyone to use caution when using tree stands. I read somewhere that there is a 1 in 4 chance that tree stand hunters will have a fall sometime in their lives. I started to use the newer style harness system and won't sit in a stand without a safety belt. Just something to remind everyone that safety comes first.

1 in 3 will fall in their hunting careers.
This will be the first year my partner and myself will be using a rock climbing ascender to get into and out of the tree.

Do you think, with the statistics of 1 in 4, or 1 in 3, that the government would ever step in and make stand hunting illegal on public land?I ask because the government never seems slow in stepping in elsewhere to protect us from ourselves- i.e. seatbelts, helmet laws, etc.
I doubt it, personally, but thought I would see what you all think.

Man, don't even give them that idea. If the liability trend continues, then it will happen.
