Default What's the best scent to use for a mock scrape?

I thought I would try and attract a buck closer to my stand.
I hunt in puplic land in upstate NY and see does early in the season but normally no buck till closer to the rut.
Can you make a scrapes anywhere that has an over hanging branch or are there certain areas I should look for?
What brand of scent do you use?
This is only my 4th year of bowhunting so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I use a dripper and Active Scrape. You need a licking branch to be truly effective. I have never been able to draw them so to speak but I make them close to natural scrapes and it really make the buck mad.

You can buy "Lickin' Stick" scent to put on a licking branch..that adds to the deceptive trap of a mock scrape. On the scrape itself, we use "Active Scrape."

I tend to prefer Mrs. Doe Pee doe in estrus urine for rut style hunting...including mock scrapes.

in some cases you dont even need to use a scent, i made a scare about a week ago within 3 days it had been re worked and a new one popped up a foot away.
