Great Hunt????? To heck you say. All I got was sweaty and bug bitten. Then on top of that I got blood all over my garage floor. Got a skinning knife to clean and sharpen. The camo is in the washer.... AGAIN. You left me Christmas decorations in the woods to pull out. What's so GREAT about it???[8D][8D][8D]

Question though: How do you gut, skin, clean up,and bone out, a deer in 90-something degree heat?

One thing about David, he's fast. For an old man he just don't slow down. I'm constintly telling him to slow down. He damn near runs through the woods and gets all wet from sweat, I tell him to slow down, nothing doing. He's teaching me about retirement but he moves much faster than I want to.

I'm not Fast... you're just half as slow as me, you might say... Half fast.[8D][8D] Len went up on the hill this AM and saw a button a rag horn 3 point and a small 6. I saw feet 75 yards away through the thick stuff....that was all.

Looks like the "Zoo" is back!
I've been two mornings and two evenings and the only blood drawn has been mine--from the dang skeeters! [:@] I haven't seen ANY deer yet--and for me, that's a long dry spell. I'm used to seeing 'em every time I go, even if there's no shot. Oh well, I'll give it another shot next week -- hopefully it'll cool off some and the humidty will drop below the 1000% it feels like.
Congrats again Rick.

I can tell you for sure the deer just aren't moving like they were a couple weeks ago. I'm still walking my kids dog. I know you saw the pictures of all the bucks I took while walking. I haven't seen a deer in a week on my walks. Before that I saw multiples every time I went. They're just hunkered down in this change of weather. The ZOO is NOT back. Not nearly the sign we've had in the past. Of course we're surrounded on 3 sides by standing corn too.

Saw about 30 last night and Sean had a nice 8 pointer about 30 yards from him. He didn't shoot because he knows his limitations and I told him on the radio that we have the entire 5 month season to get 'his' shot. I've taught him patience and he was happy to let it walk - for now.
Of the 30 I saw, there were some small bucks and 2 piebalds. One of the 30 didn't leave the scene.
Fresh steaks on the barbie tonight.
