Camo Shopping
I am new to the board and also to hunting. Took the hunters safety class and I can not wait to get out into the woods for some deer with my bow. I started looking for camo at the stores and I am finding out that it is not exactly free.
I was wondering what people thought was the most bang for the buck. I think I am going to try to get things that I can get away with for this season and try to hit the sales in Janurary for next years gear.
Are the better brands worth the money? Scent-lok, etc? I don't think I will be doing any sub zero hunting, mainly fall season.
Any help would be great. Let me know what you think.
This is a great board.
Thanks.

Scent Loc is great . . . but I don't have any. It is too expensive for me and it gets pretty hot in Eastern Washington during Deer and Elk seasons. I have two sets of Mossy Oak. One set of the original Break-Up pattern and needind a secons set of camos this year I bought a set of the new Mossy Oak Shadow Bark from Wal Mart.
I got the pants and shirt at Wal Mart for the price of the pants elsewhere. The only draw back is that the pants are zippered and the waist band has elastic bands that I dislike and the pockets just button closed [NO FLAPS]. However, their bigest drawback is that the side pockets are white. After our late archery elk hunt, I'll be dying the pockets black. It is a good way to get your first set of camos though.
I have the utmost faith and trust in the QUALITY camos that Cabela's sells and would never hesitate to buy from them.
Lastly, make sure that everyone that you recieve Christmas and Birthday gifts from knows that you need head to toe camo clothes and be sure to tell them the pattern that you want.
Hap[py Birthday and Merry Christmas.

I am using ASAT camo for the first time this year.
I am very impressed with it.
Chuck and Tim are 2 great guys who will stand by their product.
In fact Chuck gave me his personal guarrantee in both email and phone calls.
I was that impressed with their 3d suit I just ordered the coveralls to go under the 3d with the weather turns cold here.
If you want give Chuck an email I know he will bend over backwards to help you.

You can look at ASAT and much more at www.lenartz.com
If you decide on the 3D suit, it will be the last camo you ever purchase.

RE: Camo Shopping
Got my ASAT suit last week.
Very cool. Can't wait to get it in the field. Looks like nothing else out there.
Their research seems very valid to me. It's why I purchased my 3D suit. The 3D suit suit will go over anything. Very versatile.
Good Luck!

Hey Justin,
Where did you get your suit? I tried to e-mail those guys with the address below, but never got an answer. I tried the e-mail on the website and it got returned to sender.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?
Thanks.

I like Predator camo the best. You can check them out at http://www.predatorcamo.com/index.html I recently purchased a set of Spring Green for the early seasons and turkey hunting. I'm going to get a new pair of bibs in Fall Brown from them real soon for the later season.
However, if you want to just get into something quick and easy, go to your local military supply shop and pick up some military camo. It works just fine and is pretty cheap. For $50 you could get a bunch of good clothing.
You can also just order whatever you need from Cabelas or Bass Pro shops. The actual patterns don't matter much. Just a personal preference really.

RE: Camo Shopping
Sorry about not getting back to you guys right away, had a computer change and got behind but I'm back up and running now. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll get you the info you need. We still have some factory imperfect suits left in 2 XL and 3/4 XL sizes at $90 and $100. A new batch of first quality 3D will be ready to ship on Monday. Cotton and bucksuede should be ready in 2-3 weeks. Sorry about the delays in production and thanks for all the support.
