Quick update, went out today and put up his primary and secondary treestands. I can honestly say that stunk, 90 degree temps high humdity here in southern Maryland. The old man sweat his butt off helping him put those treestands up.
We checked a few feeders we had setup throughout our woods and the deer are hitting them hard). While slowing walking back to the site I picked as my primary stand site a nice 8 pointer was milling aroundthe general area ( within 30 yards) of the tree I had tagged for my stand. Thank goodness we stopped about 100 yards before getting there to glass the area). So we backed out of the woods slowly and headed for home. Needless to say I did not get my stand up today, will prob. wait 2 or 3 days before going back.
To answer the question about my son Nick tagging one of the monster bucks we have seen this year...........well, if he tags it then good for him. Like I said in my initial post I have a feeling he is going to have a GREAT year. Don't know why but I just have this overwhelming feeling that he is going to score bigtime this year.
P.S The fun for me is seeing him enjoy himself!!!!

Can I ask, just out of curiosity, why you used the "[:'(]" sign for your post? I saw that and got the impression that you hated the fact that itis his second season, and you aren't looking forward to it. None of my business, just wondering.

Just a quick update. Son decided he wanted to go sit in his treestand with the video camera yesterday evening. He got 3 fawns, 2 does and a nice little 6 pointer on camera all within 10 yards of his stand. He was so excited, called me on the radio after they left and wouldnt shutup). Sitting here now trying to figure out how to get frame shots off the video camera to post some still shots for you guys. Anyways 8 days until bow season, we both are so ready to hit the woods.

This morning was my sons Nick first day out this year. He said he had seen2 does and a fawn at about 50-60 yards. Of course after they left the area he had to get on the radio all excited and tell me all about it. While jabbering on the radio all of a sudden in mid sentence he quit talking. Needless to say I waited a few minutes and called him back. His response was " hey dad a spike buck just walked by but was to far out for a shot".
Once again he went on for 5 minutes on the radio about the who, what, were and from what directionit came from and which direction it was heading. I would say he is a little excited this year. On a side note I saw 3 does, two fork bucks and a nice little 6 pointer. Let them all walk, I am waiting on one of the monsters we spotted. We plan on heading out again this evening if it isnt to hot. Catcha later folks.
