Default Homemade Trail Camera

I went out to check myStealth Camtoday. I walked in front of it to see if it took any pictures. There were no pictures so I decided to walk in front of it to see if it would take a picture of me. I started at five feet and walked in to touch the camera. It did not take a picture of me. I turned around and it took a picture of me as I was about four feet away. The film then rewinded. I am disappointed that I spent $60 on something that does not work. I heard great reviews, but mine was horrible. I am not going to buy another one.

I remembered a post on here that had directions for making a homemade trail camera. I tried doing a search, but the search is not working for me. Does anyone have the link for that thread?

I do have some good news. A deer tripped my string trap. This string trap was in my back up spot though. I went to check out my main spot and all of the string traps were still set. I walked around for a few minutes and saw several sets of tracks. None of the string traps were tripped though. I swear those deer can fly!

In addition to Double Lunger's link you could check out Hag's House (you can Google it)they are very helpful there. Even a technically challenged guy like me was able to build one.

Is it cost effective to build your own camera? Or is it simply a matter of better quality?

It'll still run ya over $200 to build your own, and that's if you can find the stuff cheap. It's really more about better quality pics and options than cost savings.

Yes to both.

Hags House and RDHC are the best on the net, hands down.
