That's a REAL nice bird! My sister in law went turkey hunting for the first time this year, got a bird with almost exactly the same measurements... only it was 11 1/2". She made the books in Michigan. I was proud of her, I took my first turkey hunt this year too, had one come in to 30 yds, but couldn't get a shot as he ducked behind a tree.... that's a fun hunt though!

Definitely a nice bird. Bigger than anything I have seen in the woods.

i strongly agree taking an animal with a bow is quite a feet no matter how big it is. I got a cow elk this year pics and story at www.freewebs.com/smokechaser/

I am real proud of this buck. Took me 5 yrs. and many close encounters(under tree stand) to get my first buck with a bow.

First Buck-9 Pt.

I have shot does over the past few years, everyone made me shake, everyone has a place in my memory. Anything shot with a bow is a huge accomplishment.

If you don't want to show it because you're ashamed of the size. Don't shoot it. I have passed on small buck before. This is not to say I've never shot a small deer.I shot a small doe at 10 feet, hunting on the ground. I was proud of it, that was closest i ever was to deer. Every animal is a trophy. It's not always the size, sometimes it's adventure.

I had a great year in the woods - I got a nice 6 pointer the third day of the NY Season - dressed out at a little over 200lbs - I got 2 nice mature does too. filled the freezer before rifle season - now I can concentrate on getting a real nice buck and let the little guys get bigger.

I also got a nice gobbler and a coyote both with the bow when in my deer stand. Saw tons of deer this season though a couple nice ones that wouldn't come into range and only a couple of button bucks and yearlings. Good Luck to the rest of you.

Here are a couple of my proudest moments. My first and seccond deer. A bit different to the ones you fellas get but deer all the same. Shot them with my old bear and stalked the spiker for about an hour and a half on my belly.
