RE: price of gas- will it affect your season?

Yup. That past two seasons I've been driving home from Champaign (little over 2 hrs) on friday nights. Get up on Sat. morning and drive 45 miles west to grandparents where I hunt. So, I probably won't be hunting as much which sucks b/c I'm done with class at 11 on fridays this semester.

Gas just hit $2.59 here in NW Ohio. Luckily for me I have about 10 different woods that I hunt and the farthest one is only about 10 minutes from my house so it won't affect me much at all. I am planning a trip to southern Ohio so it will be costly but I don't care. Bowhunting is my love and I gotta be in the woods!! No raghead will stop me!!

Nope. Only place I have to hunt down here is our ranch which is 4 miles up the road from the house. The 2.2L s-10 gets almost 30 miles to the gallon, so thats almost 4 round trips per gallon ;)

On the other hand, I did just drive from WV to TX in my Sunfire and it cost me roughly $110 with premium. It wont change WHEN I drive, but its changing HOW I drive. No more fast acclerations or anyhting of that nature.

NOPE! I have been planning on $4.00 a gallon for two years now. Bowhunting is far more omporttant that a few bucks for gas!

i had already started to budget for it when they rolled out the new energy bill in congress it didnt address none of the gas issues actually it hurt the gas industry by demanding more ethinol it takes more fuel to produce ethino; then it saves and costs more to refine if we dont start building refineries and drilling in the us were gonna pay thru the nose for fuel

Put a little extra deisel in the truck today and paid 15 dollars for just a little over 5 point something gallons of fuel,,yeah, 15 bucks for 5 point some odd gallons.
All the more reason just to stay up in my stand longer than breaking down out of there early to drive around .

Since I hunt 3 states I hope a nice buck comes by me quick. I'll be broke if I got to keep driving back to try and fill my tags.

I just bought a '05 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the Hemi. Shoulda done some more research in how high gas was going to get. Anyway, I filled up on Friday night and paid $2.47 and on the way home on Saturday I passed a station that was selling regular for $2.72 a gallon! My old little truck looks better now. As far as huntig goes, most of my spots are within 25 miles one way. I'm just going to see how much it costs for a couple of weeks and decide then.
