What kind of Chronograph?
#1
For HuntingNet.Com's Benefit4Kids 3D Archery shoot and pig roast... we're going to put up a chronograph to for people to check their arrow speeds.
The thing is, nobody in the office has one. ( I don't need a chrony to know is my bow is really, really, really slow.....like you could run after my arrows and steer them if needed)
I'm looking at the Chrony F-1 or the Competition Electronics Pro Chrono Pal. (I'm leaning toward the Competition Electronics because Keystone Country Store [a sponsor] sells them)
Any thoughts on either? Thanks!
Oh and if you can make it out... come to the 3D shoot!! http://www.cooncreekhuntclub.com/news/news.asp?ID=31

I bought the pro chrono with lightkit for use down at the shop and it has worked flawlessly indoors. I only used it briefly outdoors when I initially purchased it to compare it to a Radarchron and my previous chrono, a Chronotech model.
If you want to save a couple bucks I would be willing to send the Chronotech model outfor you folks touse at the shoot. I still owe you for the hat, shirt and notepad.

That's a very generous offer PABowhntr!
My worry is that Justin will be using it to get the speed of his arrows... and well... have you ever seen him shoot?

Either will work, I have owned both. It is hard to beat the Chrony F-1 model for simplicity.
If yourshooting outside you will have to watch your lighting or else you will get some wacky readings. In addition, being that it is for "public use" and possibly could get a lot of traffic, I might put a partition in front of it to protect it from any "accidents".

I have the same one as PA,and itworks fine. Has memory for string of shots, average speed, dual shots. Didn't tet the light kit. I.ve used it inside under my high hats and worked, also just a couple bulbs on an extension cord would work and save money.
