Well thanks to Splint2004 I now may have thedilema with buying the Diamond Rapture online VS. the shop, 593.00 shipped VS. 769.00 thats a pretty big difference. The pro with the shop is obviously the lifetime service of the bow. The question is how often do bows need sevicing and what are prices for a minor tune up vs. something major like breaking something and having it fixed and retuned. I would think that if you don't halfway destroy the thing and you only need routine maintenance once a year or so at 20-30 bucks you'd be ahead by buying online and paying for the servicing when needed.

Support your local shop. You will usually save more money if you do.

$593 vs $769! That's crazy! I didn't pay $769 for my Allegiance. I think that either the bow shop is trying to screw their customers with an insane markup, are the online store is selling at or just over cost. I'dgo shop around at a few more dealers and see what their prices are for the same bow and look at a few different online shops to see if the online dealer you site is way below everyone else.

For $176 I'd buy online. I'm all for supporting your local dealer, as long as he's not trying to screw over his customers with outrageous markups. I'd under 10% more, or even maybe 15%, but for almost 30% they can keep their bow. I'd just buy the bow online and take it to them for the accessories. Almost all shops will install accessories on any bow if you buy it from them, and asa Bowtech and/or Diamond dealer they have to service any Bowtech/Diamond bow no matter where you bought it.

Woo, I didn't notice what bow he was talking about. You might want to find another shop.

Remember, at the shop the base price for the bow is 399.00 and the 3 pin sight, drop away rest, release and arrows are all high end. The thing I have to ponder is, do I really need all high end accessories as a beginer.

You didn't mention that the pro shop bow included accessories. Since you didn't specify I assumed you meant that the price you mentioned was for bare bow. Depending on the accessories the pro-shop bow might be a better deal.

Well, the original question was regarding servicing of bows and how much in general it costs.

I have to admit that is a pretty big price difference. I guess it would depend on the shop and the expertise being offered. Still, that is a pretty big difference.

The bow with accessories is approx 700 before tax, I looked at the drop away rest he would put on it and it sells for 125 alone, not sure about the 3 pin sight and release but but the way he talked about them they were on the higher end.
