We have to wear it in every season but archery. We cannot take it off even when in the stand. I wish there was a way to break up the orange, but I don't know how I can legally do that.

Can you wear a pattern such as this?

I've always heard that deer aren't as color blind as they've been made out to be. Though they did give up some color vision to be able to see so well in the dark. The red and red hues is what they gave up, that's why blaze orange is so difficult for them to see. A deer sees it as just another shade of grey. From what I've heard their green vision is about as much as our would be if not better.
Up in the UP of Michigan it seems that a lot of people are wearing blaze orange coveralls that have splotches of black in it. It still meets the mininum blaze orange requirment and breaks up their outline. It makes sense to me, I might get myself a set this year for gun season.

You could always smear some strategically placed patches of mud on solid blaze and still meet the requirement .

yeah that's how it is in kentucky and florida if i'm not mistakened. when i was gun hunting this last season i just tried to keep my torso behind a tree as much as i could ( i was hunting on the ground). it worked ok. but i forgot that i had that hat on and i'm pretty sure some does notice the hat slowly moving back and forth from behind the tree . but it didn't help the buck that came out with them

I don't think deer will see you 25to30 feet in a tree
