What brand of sting is the one that doesnt twist? because i want a peep sight but dont want the tubing to hold it in place. and help would be nice. thanks

I shoot a winners choice and have no problem at all.

Quality strings all twist but they settle in to the same spot every shot so you don't need the tube. Give Gibblet a PM he will take care of ya.

Sorry if this is standard knowledge to everyone..My peep on my winner’s choice string kept on settling a bit to the right. So before each shot I had to first twist the string to the left to compensate for this. If I move the peep sight up it changes my form and anchor point. I managed to fix this by doing the following: If the peep is in the middle of the string with the lighter and darker strands separated, swap 2 of the lighter strands with 2 of the darker ones. Problem solved, settles perfectly in the middle.

i can get mine close to coming back perfect, but unless i luck out its always a little right or left. what i do is offset my loop a little bit when i get it close and tighten my loop by inserting some needle nose pliers and spreading them. i've done the strand swap to the point of 0 rotation at all, but you have to be very careful - as i'm sure african sunrise will attest. it's easy to damage strands, and if you go the wrong way around the peep it'll get worse and you'll have to undo it and go the other way. you can also add a twist to the bottom of the string and take 1 out of the top, but its just more trouble than its worth to me.

the thing is i'll say ok, 2 twists in the bottom of the string will do it. i do it and it's almost perfect, i add another and all the sudden the string has hit this point where 1 twist does a lot more than it did before and now i've done too much, so i take out a half a twist and if its not perfect i offset my loop a little. its the easiest and least damaging way i've found to mess with mine. plus the good thing is if your cable or string settles some more, it doesn't matter, the peep will still come back right. i usually end up with about 70 degrees of rotation if you add the peep and loop offset together. some people flip over this, but honestly i wouldn't care if my peep did a 360 as long as it did it every time.

I also use a slight offset in my loop on my previous string to cancel out the problem.
To keep string damage to the minimum, I rather use a bowpress.

There isn't a string that won't creep inititally...even the Winners Choice. However, it is the amount that they creep and how long it continues that are important. Many of the popular string materials....450, 8125, D75, T1, etc... are excellent but also need to be put together correctly in order to get as minimal creep as possible. That is where a good string maker comes in....and why Winners Choice strings, in particular, have been very popular for several years now.

when dealing with the peep i forgot 1 thing. after shooting my string in i install it and just tie it in around the groove, i don't serve it in initially. after i've got it coming back perfectly and shot it a bit, that's when i serve it in. i do not think its a good idea to alter the gap above and below the peep when serving it in. that serving will eventually slide back until the gap is where it naturally wants to be and that will affect your peep's rotation. i serve until i reach the gap, and that's it. people who shoot off the string may need to affect the gap when serving to get perfect rotation, but occasionally they'll have to slide the serving back into position. plus i like to serve my peep in with fancy colored string material and wind it around 1 side of the split and serve the other side - it looks the coolest, but isn't really too functional. you have to do 2 back whips to get it right - 1 on each side of the gap.

I just twist my string loop so it faces the same direction as my peep. That way when I draw it back the string loop twists the string until the peep is perfect. Is this ok?
