My name on this site will tell loads, "txrookie". I bought my bow because it was the best one the Academy store stocked. My wife had given me a gift card, I used it and layaway to get my Alpine Archery Impact X-treme. I was very pleased to find a nice write up on this bow at "Inside Archery". I didn't find the report until after I had the bow. I am pretty happy with this bow but I think I'll do the research first next time.

Probably the biggest reason I bought my bow was for its smooth draw cycle.

Price is no object when I buy a bow, as long as it is the one that I want no matter who has one or not. I went with the 2005 hoyt protec because of the 8.25 in. brace height and the longer axle to axle. I am pushing 300 fps and have it all outfitted for MBO . I liked the bow so much that I purchased the camo 2005 Protec and set it up for hunting.(The other is in safari color) I was always a di-hard Mathews man and had the LX as my last bow. I bought a Hoyt Protec and never looked back. I got the witches out of the hunting bow already.

Why did I buy the bow I have?

1) It was the best shooting , smoothest drawing , and quietest bow , out of everything that I tried that fit my criteria.

2) See #1

1. The smooth draw. I would like you to find a bow with a smoother draw than mine. Just go try, I dare you.

2. The vibration and recoil free shot. I would like you to find a bow with a better shot feel than mine. Just go try, I dare you.

3. I can shoot Oneida's all day. When I try to shoot my friends PSE more than 20 shots, my arm is dead.

4. The look. When you look at any other wheel bow, most people dont know what it is right off the bat. Most people either have to take a second look, or look at the sticker on the limb, but not with Oneida. One glance and people know what it is.

5. Customer Service. CP Oneida has THE best customer service in the Archery business.

Been there , done that!

If I would have known you were gonna double dog dare me beforehand we could have made a wager. But again , been there , done that!

Weakling! Maybe your friend works out more than you. Maybe you should join her!

Your right about that. My brother shoots an Oneida. I can even tell when he's shooting with my eyes closed.

I purchased my bow solely based on feel. I picked up and shot every bow the shop had (which was all of the major brands) Came down between my bow and the Hoyt. Could not put mine down so I had to buy it!
