Silentassassin says:
I will bet you 500 packs of Muzzy's that the Muzzy's you find at Wal-Mart aren't the same as the ones you find at the Pro-Shop. For that matter neither are the thunderheads. They make them "special" for Wal-Mart with cheaper materials. Balk if you want but my sister-in-law is the Director of Operations at the largest Wal-Mart distribution center in the country.

I just called Muzzy and spoke to their Customer Service/ Technical Assistance departments(two different people), and the company assured me that the broadheads that are purchased at Wal-mart or any other "large chain store" are EXACTLY the same product both in materials and quality as the broadheads that are available in Pro Shops. The price variations are due to contract/ volume. Either Muzzy is trying to pull off a huge scam, or I've got a bridge to sell Silentassassin and his sister-in-law. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
My $ is on Muzzy - I'm sticking with my Wal-mart Muzzys at $15 a 3pk
...hey, these are just the FACTS, you be the judge.

I have to agree with you on this. It would be too costly to test and manufacture "different" qualities of heads for sale in different stores. I'm sure there are pretty stringent manufacturing processes that are followed for the production of their broadheads and it just wouldn't pay to change all that to market some heads in Wal-Mart. That just doesn't make sense

You all are right. I never should have said a word. I apologize.

Thank you. That wasn't so hard. We can disagree and still be friends.

Why can't we all just get along??
There are products that are made in varying levels of quality for sale specifically in the large chains. Home Depot is one of the worst offenders. There are engineering specs agreed to by HomeDepot and manufacturers to squeeze cost out of production for pricing benefits.
Doubt muzzy did it though. I also doubt that it is a 100% rule on all products sold by WalMart.

My understanding is Walmart approches Manufacturer A and says we want to buy x zillion widgets at y dollars per wiget. Are you interested.
At that point it is up to the manufacturer to produce the contracted amount of merchandise within the contracted period of time.
Muzzy 3 packs at $15.00 - Proshop Muzzy 6 packs at $29.00 I don't see a difference other than the packaging. Do you?
