your bow choice
#2
A little of both, I suppose. When I purchased my bow I spent as much as a could, got what I thought was the best deal for my money, and it just so happened that it was one that I had been interested in purchasing. Needless to say, I'm happy with my choice so far.

I too would say a little of both. If I really wanted to I could afford to spend a lot more on a bow than I did. I looked at a bunch of bows in the price range that I chose to adhere to. I then picked the one that felt the best and had all the reqiurements I was looking for.

Last year I picked up a Hoyt Vipertec because I got a great deal on it. It wasn't the exact bow I wanted, but it was still a great bow and for the price I couldn't pass it up. I shot it for a year, took a deer with it, but I was just never really 100% happy because deep down I wanted something else. So this year I sucked it up, shot a bunch of new bows, and ended up with the one that suited me best and I enjoyed shooting the most.
Now I am living in the throes of poverty with all the money I spent on a new setup, but at least I'm happy.

First bow I bought was a cheap PSE, when I was 14 yrs old. 2 years ago I really wanted a Mathews LX and had the "soon to be wife" at the time buy it for me as a wedding present. She gets diamonds and I get a bow. Sounds like a good deal to me. She wanted to get me a watch but I don't wear that fancy crap, just give me a bow!! BUT yes I first had a bow I could afford, which worked fine at the time and now I have the bow I want.

I shoot what i want. Could be the cheaper model, could be a higher priced. I bought the SQ2 for christmas cause it was what i wanted. When the Legacy came out, i turned around and bought it only 6 months after the SQ2 and sold it. Havnt bought another one since.
