Default Advise Please!

I just purchased a Switchback, I have only shot it about 20 to 30 times! Awesome bow however the serving below my noc is loose and moving and I can push it down a little and see the string! What is up with that?! My bow came from the factory with the Zebra ZS twist string. I know there isn't anything wrong with the string it is the serving. Obviously something is up. However I don't know if this is a good string or not. Any advise about the Zebra string would be appreciated! Also if it is not the greatest string then what string would you recomend? Oh my draw length is 29 and 70#. I don't know if that makes a difference or not in choosing a bow string. Thanks!

Good ole Mathews.

The ones at the store have the same problem and we haven't even nocked an arrow on them. They have just been hanging on the wall and the serving is able to be pushed up and down on the string.

BTW the switchback comes with their new baracuda strings rather than the standard zebra string.

big bulls I stand corrected sorry it does come with the Zebra baracuda string. Do you know what the difference between the Zebra and the Zebra Baracuda is and is one better than the other? Or is there another all together that you would recomend?

I would reccommend shooting the Winner's Choice bowstring. I had one installed on my old bow and recently bought a new BowTech Diamond Rapture and before I even took it out of the shop I had my bowshop guy install a new Winner's Choice string. You will notice the difference even if you have only shot your swithback 20-30 times with your old string!!!

I asked Mathews what the differance was and they told me that the baracuda is pre streched and made so that you don't get serving seaperation. Aparantly their manufacturing process isn't working too well.[]

I don't shoot a Mathews for many reasons that I won't get into but from what I understand their strings are some of the worst made.

Some great strings would be Winners Choice, Pro strings, Stone Mountain, Vapor trail.....

There are still more that others can list for you as well.

Zebra strings are made out of Fast Flight... the material that everyone used back in the 90s... it's know for it's ability to strecth further than a rubber band...

Barracuda strings are made from 8125.. which is a much better material than fastflight.. Winners Choice strings are also made from 8125... WC just does a better job w/ stretching them in and serving them very tightly.

I would take the bow back to the shop and they should reserve the center serving for your. It's not that big of a deal.

If you want custom strings definately check out Vapor Trail... about 1/2 the cost of WC and just as good. Vaportrail also makes the stock strings for Bowtech... who has the best stock strings of any bow out there.
