Ameristep Outhouse/Doghouse
Wanting some input on these blinds, thinking of getting one or other.
1) Is the Outhouse big enough for bow hunting (full draw, etc.)?
2) How is their quality? (price is good)
3) Any other input? (do you have, do you like, good/bad points)
Thnaks

1) No , tight even for a single gun hunter .
2) I hunted out of the same Outhouse for 4 years without noticeable fading or other loss of quality such as fraying of edges , broken zips , etc.
3)All tent blinds have their positives and negatives , only you can decide them . If you bowhunt exclude the Outhouse and go for the Doghouse , Blockhouse , Penthouse , etc.

If you are looking for a blind. Look into a Double Bull if you can afford it. They are more but definetly worth it. Ameristep blinds are nylon and the shine will spook game. The DB are made out of cotton and has a nice dull finish. The DB will not flap in the wind like the other ones do. Check out DB website for more info.

I got the outhouse & its too small.
I got a doghouse & its a nice one person blind, a little tight but more than adequate & took 2 deer from it this year shooting thru the mesh.
I got a Hunters view lodge, its basically a big doghouse, 7'X7' & 7' high as well. Very roomy & not shiney like the doghouse (Tho in my experience the deer didnt mind the sheen). This is big enuff for 2 guys or a hunter & his kid. I had 2 chairs & a bucket for trash in it, was almost a home away from home. Killed 3 from it this season. Only thing its missing is the shoot thru mesh but in all honesty if you only open 2 windows & sit in the back away from them they cant see you. You'll think they can when they look right at you but they cant, its nerve racking till your used to it.
I Like the blinds, you cant see like you can from a tree but they cant see you either & it seems to help keep scent down.
