Question regarding broad heads
I am new to the whole bowhunting thing and i am currently trying to find out information about it, such as classes and so on so forth if you like to check it out, its on the bowhunting forum. My question is what is the difference between an mechanical and a fixed bladed head? Thank you in advance

RE: Question regarding broad heads
Redhawk
Mechanical BH's have the blades tucked into the ferule and will open open on the impact. Many archers will use these instead of a fixed blade head because they can get them to fly the same as their fieldpoints.
The fixed blades are just that! They are inset in the ferule and lock into place when you tighten the head down. The blades are exposed to the wind and could steer your arrow if the bow isn't tuned properly! Hope I helped a little

RE: Question regarding broad heads
Ok sounds good. Thank you for replying. I was curious about that. I'll find out what broadhead is legal and illegal in the state of California.
