Len,

You mentioned that "most" of the harnesses are only rated to 300 lbs. Are there any that are rated higher?

Actually, it's quite easy to "beat your trusty Summit". I've seen design flaws that would amaze you and can give you testimonials to their weaknesses. The reason they're so popular is because of their price point.

In the general scheme of things for our industry, the answer would be 'NO'. I would think, however, that someone in the forest or industrial industry could point you toward a stronger system. You would, I'm sure, have to pay a lot more for such an item. No matter what the price, you and your family would be better off. Maybe a thread on this subject would be in order.
