Patriot vs Liberty?
I posted this on the technical forum and was'nt sure if it was the correct place so here goes......
I am planning to purchase a new bowtech. I would like to have a bow that would maximize the limitations of my short draw, yet be accurate for treestand hunting. Speed is a factor but not as much due to my planning to use a pendulum sight, as I prefer to shoot one pin. I was considering the extreme but have pretty much discounted that idea; i'm torn between the Liberty and the Patriot and need some imput. I have a 27 1/2" draw and currently shoot a 70# Mightymite with Beman ICS 500's cut to 25 3/8" with a 85 grain tip, Impact cosmic one pin sight; set up is awsome. My questions are as follows: Which bow would be the best pic for a short draw archer? I am planning to set it up with a QAD Ultra Drop Away and a Mantis pendulum sight, which bow would be better for treestand hunting? I have shot both and like the features afforded by each of them.
thanks,
Scuba

RE: Patriot vs Liberty?
do you have excess to shooting them.if so go with the one you feel fits you the best, the patriot and the mighty mite have the same type cam but the patriots draw cycle is a little different i think.seems to me that most of the draw cycle occurs early and breaks sooner.for some that is a blessing and feels better that through most of the cycle.but the liberty is a smoother drawing bow with a better brace height,if you have been shooting quite awhile and can be really comfortable with 70 lbs in cold weather go with the patriot but if you hunt in cold weather and want a smoother and easier draw go with the liberty.you need to find out for yourself though.

Well, I'm voting for the Patriot but you've really got to shoot both of 'em. I honestly think that pendulum or not the extra speed is nice, you can shoot a heavier arrow and generate a bit more KE/momentum, which is a definite plus provided the draw cycle isn't a problem for you. I think you'll be happy with either on, but try to shoot both, otherwise you'll always wonder if you made the right choice.
