For hunting in the cold weather when your muscles don't want to cooperate. I find that the Winn Free release really helps. "it feels like you're pulling less weight". My father has loved his for the last 10 yrs. I had one years ago and sold it to someone that was looking for one.. because I always had to be trying something new.

Well last year when I went bowhunting for the 1st time in 5 yrs or so. I borrowed my dad's bow and his winn free release. I was immediately reminded how much I liked that release from years past.

The trigger is very close to the jaws on the winn free there for you lose less draw length than if you used one the releases w/ the trigger spaced further from the jaws. I find it a little funny that Winn Free had this down 10 yrs ago.. and other companies are introducing it like it's the latest thing (short n sweet, ect...).

I'm currently shooting a Scott Mongoose that I replaced the winn with years ago... and it's a great release. Don't know if I'll be shooting it or the winn free for hunting season yet.

"it feels like you're pulling less weight".
That's one of the big reasons that I like the glove style releases so much better than the wrist strap style. The weight of the bow is spread out over your entire hand instead of being concentrated behind your thumb and your pinkey finger.

I don't necessarily feel like I am pulling less weight as far as my arms and back muscles are concerned but the weight that my hand is holding is much more evenly distributed and much more comfortable to hold at full draw.
