Passthru Nets
How do the passthru nets on ground blinds work? I'd like more info before I purchase.
I've heard people recommend the double bull T2 or T5 with passthru net.
My current blind is a bit small for bowhunting and would like to upgrade.

RE: Passthru Nets
Hazcon7, the passthru nets are recommended to be used only with 'fixed broadheads' that's the only hiccup. The expandable broadheads can 'open' on contact with the net, causing erratic arrow flight.

Belle, thats my main concern. I shoot fixed b-heads so no problem there. I'm just curious how shooting through a mesh will not alter my arrow flight path.
Has anyone any experience with this?

I got a Double Bull BS-5 this fall. I practiced alot shooting through it. My max shot distance is 30 yards if everything is perfect. I practiced to 30 and had NO problems at all with Thunderhead 100 (fixed). I also shot my Wasp Jackhammer 100's (1 3/4" diameter cut mechanical)out to 25 yards and it worked great also. If you shoot mecanicals with the little arms for fast opening I promise you will have problems! The Wasp heads don't have that.
Love my BS-5!
Good Luck!

RE: Passthru Nets
We use DB's shoot-thru netting with our T5 blinds.
I must admit I was also skeptical at first, but
after doing some testing a couple of years back,
my partner and I have taken quite a few animals
while shooting through the netting. With the amount
of time we put in preparing for our hunts, if it
affected my arrow flight...I wouldn't use it. The last
thing I want to do is work my tail off and then
miss, or worse yet, wound a animal.
We've shot Muzzy 4-blades, Wasp SST's, and Rocket
Steelheads, all with good success. My partner took
a coues buck a couple years ago, while hunting
over a waterhole, at 52 yds, with a 100 gr. Rocket
Steelhead...perfect hit. If you've ever hunted these
spooky animals you know how difficult it is to get
a shot, like I mentioned, if the netting had a affected
our arrow flight...we wouldn't have used it...we
probably wouldn't have gotten a shot then - 'cuz
they'd have picked off the windows/ports, but
that's another story.
Make sure your bow is tuned and the arrow is
leaving the bow properly. I'd recommend that
each and every hunter shoot their BH/arrow combo-
nation through the netting before hunting, I can
only speak for the results I've seen or experienced.
I'm not sure if this pic will show the hole in the netting
from my Wasp SST, but the blade cuts are sharp
and you can see there are no snags. The hole is
right above the vertical weed behind the netting...

RE: Passthru Nets
I just got a T2 and had a friend that shot a deer threw the screen and was using a rocket steel head and it didn't do nothing to the flight of his arow but hit 2inc low. So shot threw it for practice and consistantly 2inc low. So aim a little hi.
