Default Passthru

Took a 10 yards shot yesterday and had the pins sitting right at the top of the heart. Waited a while then got out of my tree. The arrow was stuck in the dirt with not a sign of blood fat hair. Can't understand it. Is it possible to pass clean thru with no sign of anything. I followed the path the deer took to as far as I saw but no blood. Maybe I clipped a branch or something. What is the general feeling on this. Did I miss or is a clean passthru possible. Help !!!!

I'd have to say it was a clean miss. When you said you lined up the pins on the heart, did you actually see the arrow hit. I have never seen a pass through without any blood, especially on a vital such as a heart.

Thats what I thought. The only thing that concerned me was that the arrow only stuck in the ground 2 inches or so and was easy to pull out. I retrieved the arrow and then took the exact same shot with the same arrow. The shot was identical and was close to the aimed spot but it stuck in a good 8 or 9 inches and even left the insert and broadhead in the ground. You are probarbly right about me missing but why the difference in penetration.

My money would go on the ever mysterious and hotly debated "duck"..You can't see it a 10yds but it's there.

Chalk up another one.

And by the way, if you can see your arrow hit at 10yds.....bad form...bad form......

I am shooting Vapor 4000 carbon arrows with 73lb pull, I can't see the arrow flight even at 25yrds. But I can see it when I climb out of the tree and walk over to where it is stuck in the ground. I don't see your point about bad form. I am just curious about the difference in penetration.
