Has anyone tried the API Packmaster stand. I usually use ladder stands but this looks like a good compromise that would be easier to pack in and quick to setup. Is it very stable? How long to setup?
If you have used one let me know what you think?
Thanks

I bought one a while back......but it got re-called and I sent it back to Cabelas. After all of the bad posts about API this year and since this was the second re-called product of API's that I've had out of two purchases , I declined to recieve another Packmaster . It seemed neat , but was taller than expected (probably 5-5.5 ft ) and was sort of an awkward size and weight for carrying much !!
I like the concept.......I hope someone improves on it !!

Well, I haven't heard of the recall, so I could be at some risk, but I have one and love it. I purchased one to allow me to place a stand in an area where my climber just wasn't working. It was light and very easy to install. Only taking a few minutes, as easy as my climber. You can only get 16 feet up, so there are limits, but when a climber just wont work. It's a great stand.

Kelly, I bought mine back in July and it was re-called around the first of Aug. .........Cabelas said they could send me a new one in Sept. that would be a corrected version ! So if you got yours after Sept. your probably alright.........I just got bummed out cause a lock-on I bought of API's a couple of years ago got recalled too !!
Man the thought of being 16' up and the pins not holding(causing me to telescope down) just freaked me out ! I actually never found out what was re-called .............my imagination got the better of me !! [8D]

I got mine in November, so hopefully it's the safe vesion. Anyhow Mike, once on the tree I thought it was very sturdy. I hunted some high wind days, 20+ gusts and didn't feel unsafe.
