Default Rocket Ultimate Steel

Has anyone tried the Rocket Ultimate Steel broadhead? They claim that they fly like a field point even over 300 fps. I found them at Cabelas, but they are not even on Rocket' s web site yet. Any info would be helpful.

There' s been many ah threads on this head. Some don' t like it' s small size (100 Gr.- odd that it' s 75 Gr. is larger than it' s 100), some problems with blades falling out. Supposedly it does fly like a field point. And the blades are SCARY sharp.
Do a search for " ultimate steel" . Hopefully I' ll be tring ' em out this year.
PS: One thing is for sure, they' re cheap enough to just go out & try ' em without wasting much $.

You may try asking 5 Shot, he is the resident broadhead guru. He also has a website set up.

MQ I cant wait to try mine this Saturday. I have one buddy that is a dealer for Rocket and shoots their mechanicals when on field edges and shoots the Ult Steel 100 when in the woods (the mechs group tighter in the 40-50yd range, though the Ult Steels are still more accurate then most, the mechs just get that extra 1" or so better group at long range. Those " bacon skinner" blades are tiny indeed. The first time he showed them to me lastyear I asked him what he was doing with " squirrel huntin broadheads" lol. But after shooting them and seeing others success, I look forward to flying them on Goldtips from my Hoyt (281 fps chronied). I am PUMPED about them, they fly like darts and are TOUGH and deadly!

GIG EM and then fire up the grill!

This afternoon I setup my Double Bull and meshed the windows and the Rockets didnt even know the mesh was there! A couple of shots stuck through my target and into a 4x4 post in my privacy fence behind it! [] I thought, " Well there went those couple of heads" . A simply tug and pry and out they came. The blades were a lil scarred but otherwise the heads were perfect. These things are TOUGH! LMAO, for farts n giggles I likewise shot a couple of field points through the mesh as well and they pulled the mesh a lil bit from the safety pins holding it in the window, but flew perfectly none the less.

These heads are a WINNER!!!

Navy:
I have shot the Steelheads but not my Ult Steelheads yet. The Ult Steelheads are bigger than the 75grs. I think Lowly Darton is getting the Steelheads and the Ult Steelheads mixed up. Ult Steelheads are bigger.
I' m looking at the Cabela' s catalog & I see the Rocket Steelheads, & the Rocket Steelhead Extreme, & the Rocket Ultimate Steel... But nothing about a Ultimate Steelhead.

The Ultimate Steel 75 Gr. heads are 1" cutting dia. yet the same Ultimate Steel heads but 100 Gr. are only 7/8" , I' m using the 100 Gr. heads & boy do they look tiny. But I keep hearing good things about ' em.

Though one of these years I' m going to use one of those Buckblaster heads - 6 bladed at 2 3/4" after opening. Shoot ' em & quarter ' em all at once.
