Default Help cable guard is givin' me fits!

When I draw my bow the cable guard jumps and skips around. What do I use to lube it up? It is sticking and then jumping causing my trophy taker to pop up the arrow. Help me out fellow bowmen.

Make sure that there is no wax or anything else on the rod itself. It needs to be squeaky clean to function properly. Even the teflon slide may stick if there is wax on the rod.

Thanks for the advice. Should I use something special to clean the slide?
I think it may have gotten some cam lube on it. Or maybe it was wax?

Use 98% alcohol or acetone.

I would second using alcohol 91% for me. But wipe it till the alcohol is fully evaporated.

I clean the cable guard with alcohol ....Wax the clean guard with your favorite car wax and you will see a big difference....Keep the bow string wax away from the gurad and slide...
