Maybe someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe it isthetype ofdetergent, the ones that "brighten colors"that contains UV brighteners, not the clothing itself. Most of the scent eliminating laundry detergents advertise of the bottle "contrains no UV brighteners"

Shine a blacklight on it in a dim room, if it's been treted with brighteners the glow will be apparent. If it does glow Atsko UV Killer will dampen the glow more or less permanently unless you wash it in a detergent containing brighteners. Use Sportwash in an empty load of hot water to remove the brightener build up in your washer's drum before washing hunting clothing.
