BobCo, did you get them tuned in? Are they worth the hassle yet?? I ordered some day or two ago and am waiting for the mail.

When I spoke with Nick he mentioned that it takes a little " nock high" to get them really locked on. Left tear through the paper and raise the nock...bullet. He also mentioned that effects of FOC were greatly reduced due to oscillation in flight. I don' y know how that works either, but that' s what he said. Let us know how they tune out.

I bought the bigger turbo nocks at the harrisburg show. They flew very well, but they were very noisy. You can here them all they way down the range. My other concern is that if the hard fins hit an obsticle. Vanes and feathers would give and not deflect the arrow as much. When I shot at a dart system they would pop off. I tried them on the new whisker buisket and they pushed the bristles out.

tru-shot, yes, I did get them tuned in to my liking. Was it worth the hastle? Don' t really know yet, but I hope so. As far as raising the nock. I would say definetely! I was at about 1/2 inch over 90 degrees. It was making holding the bow awkward. That is why I had to adjust the tiller. Now, I have it at 1/8 inch above 90 degrees, which is very acceptable. My advice before any adjustments though is to check for clearence very carefully, don' t just eyeball them. I used lipstick, and footpowder spray and still had a hard time identifying any contact. Also, put a little piece of masking tape around the cable where the fins past. Lipstick will show on the tape better then the actual string. When you are 110% sure you have no contact, then move on. Also, remember that you are able to remove about an inch off your arrow because of the length of the turbo nock.

cgarrett, As far as them making noise, yes, I noticed that too. They are louder then feathers. But when I finally found where they were making contact on my rest, it quieted down a lot. I would check to be sure that you don' t have contact. As you have said, they are very non-forgiving, if they hit anything in flight.

It took me most of the day on Sunday to tune the bow correctly for the turbo' s. Hopefully within a few weeks I will be able to give you a full opinion on them. I want to give them a full chance. But, they will also have to shoot fixed boadheads well for me to use them. We will see.

Are you using the bigger ones or sthe smaller ones. The rep told me you need to use the bigger ones with broadheads. I have been shooting them out of a whisker and they make noise oll the way down. I have not shot the smaller ones

Thanks Bobco,
I agree, about the Broadhead flight. That' s why I' m getting them. I shoot the 2512' s with a 125 gr. Steelforce and need a 5" feather with a hellical to stabilize. Right around 11.68% FOC. But that will change with the Turbo' s. I' m sure rest clearance won' t be an issue, but I' ll have to do something about the cables....I have to watch the alignment now or I' ll brush them on the way back and on the way out.
Where' s that danged mail man!

cgarrett, I am using the hunter turbos with a 32" XX78 2613 shaft, field tip weight is 175 grain, 70 pound draw weight, 32" draw.

trushot, I am assuming that you use a drop away rest. If so, you may want to shoot your feather fletched arrows with the cock feather pointing out instead of down to get the clearence past the cable. I personaly have used a four 4.75" vaned helical and set the vanes on an X coming off the string to allow for the best clearence.

Hope the turbos work for you. Last night I shot a very little bit and had some good success with them at close range. I had to reserve the center serving last night though because of all the nock adjustments that I have done in the last week or so.

If I remember correctly, it took about a week for the turbos to get to my door from the time I placed the order. I think that Nick sends them through the regular mail.

Thanks Bobco,
I shoot a Bowtech Mighty Mite with a MZE and Cosmic sight. I have to put the cock feather out to clear my 5" feathers from brushing the cables now.

If the Turbos clip my cables I' ll be done...I don' t know how to adjust that or if it' s even adjustable. If they don' t work there I' ll try them on my recurve[8D]....Or maybe I need another bow
