Default Another Rage broadhead question.

How many of you that use them place an extra o-ring, or rubber band, over the blades to keep them closed while in your quiver? If you do this, what kind of bands do you use? I picked up a couple of packs in the hope of shooting a turkey with them this spring, but after taking my brother,my business partner, and a friend, I didn't have much time left for myself. I have shot them through a pc. of leather stretched over my broadhead target, just to see how they open, and they performed well. The only thing I am a little leary of is how easy they seem to open just carrying an arrow tipped with one. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I can tell you ive herd never to shoot a turkey with them... the if you shoot through the wing the energy and blades are deployed and loose all force coming out of the wing. IDK myself just what i herd.

This could be the most rediculous thing I've ever heard. Are you saying not to shoot them because you may hit the wing bone? If you will remember, they are birds, which mean they have hollow bones. If you are afraid you won't get penetration on a TURKEY then by no means, don't shoot them at a deer. Makes no sense my man...

I put a band around the blades. The bands supplied with rocket heads work nicely and keep them closed and they still open easily.

I like the idea of the Rocket bands. Thanks for the reply.
