one thing i have noticed w/ my trail cam (stealth cam mg2 35mm) is that if you put it lower on the tree, say 2- 2 1/2 feet off the ground, it gets triggered more, probably due to the action of the deers legs moving as they walk by. im kind of in the same boat as you, as i'll soon be getting a wildview 2.0 mp cam that hasa 5 sec trigger speed, kind of slow i know, but it has all the other features i like, including the price tag! let us know how the corn and molasses work for ya.

I have a couple low end digital moultree cams. These cameras are slow campared to high end cameras. My best pics come from over corn piles. Try to find a water hole or face the camera into a trail as mentioned by others.
