Thanks to all for the recommendations. I agree that I think it may be a little to "overboard" for what I need it for. I am mostly bow hunting from a treestand and the differences are not enough to warrant a complicated range finder. In fact, my buddy just got the RX-II and can't figure it out. He says he hasn't been able to sit down yet and read the manual.

I'm returning my RX-11 today, and getting the Nikon Monarch.Don't bother giving me any lip about reading directions,I have.I've also gone thur step by step instructions with Leupold reps. on the phone.
The rangefinder is too "touchy" as far as the settings are concerned, and it WILL go out of "tune" for no appearant reason.Leupold,to their credit, has admitted to this.It has been very aggreivating on 3-D courses this summer, and I am not going to take the chance this years hunting season...Bob

I don't think you're supposed to be using a rangefinder on the 3D course, at least none that I've been to.

I just got my brand new Nikon Monarch 800 yesterday, I think it's a great rangefinder.

Good point,Cabelas4toys,I(we) don't use rangefinders when we shoot 3-D torneys, however, when I set-up our courses at the club,I do.Needless to say, that when my buddies and I are just fooling around at a course,we have been knonw to set our "own" course up,just for fun....Bob

Ican get any of the Leupold rangefinders at cost which is incredibly cheap. Even though it's got features I'll never use (TBR for one) I'm still thinking about buying eithera III or IV. At cost, they are substantially cheaper than anything else out there.

Other than being complicated, are they accurate and durable?
