Default BowTech vs. UltraTec

I shot my new (2006) BowTech Old Glory against my old (2002) Hoyt UltraTec through the chronograph last night.
29" 500 grain arrow (A/C Superslim 340 wrapped w/ 4" QS and 125 grain head)
71# / 30" draw

UltraTec (single cam): 242 fps (65.0 lb. ft. KE)
Old Glory (smooth mods): 257 fps (73.3 lb. ft. KE)

The BowTech has noticably less noise and way less hand shock but it weighs about 1/2 pound more than the already heavy UltraTec.

Not for that arrow weight. Published speeds for that bow are calculated with a 350 grain arrow. You'll never catch me throwing a 350 grain arrow at a brown bear, much less a mountain goat!

The 4 year newer bow shot faster....cool. Both are quite respectable for that weight. I agree, I wouldn't shoot an arrow that light at a bear either.....
