A red Carter Fits Me four finger release. He said it is a thumb release but can be used as a back tension release. How did I do? Not very familar with these type of releases. I was looking for a palm type release though.

Carter is one of the top names in archeryreleases. I am a little worried if you didn'tknow much about thistype of release, why didn't you look around a little longer before you spent money on something you don't know much about?
Have you tried this style release yet? If you have and like it, Carter is definately a top brand. But if you haven't tried this style of release, what happens when you don't know how to properly use it or don't really like it after you start shooting with it?
Just something to think about.

Yeah, they are definately a good release. I just shot a Carter Just Cuz release the other night. A guy at the range let me try it. It was definately a nice release, I just hate buying something that I don't really know much about.
Just personal preference. Good luck with the release, hopefully it works out for you. You shouldn't really have any problems with it once you understand how it works.

Yeah, I haven't really dealt with them, but I know they are adjustable. The set screw right under the release button is how you adjust them. I know it is pretty sensitive out of the box so be careful not to dry fire the bow or fire unexpectedly.

lol, you wouldn't believe how many times I have done that. I thought the arrow/nock was pushed all the way up against the string and whap. Right on the inside of my forearm. I done this three times in a ROW, I had two big ole welps on my arm. I don't cry much.........not in a long while, but that brought tears to my eyes.
