Do stabalizers aid much in reducing kick? also, how do you determine the size of stabalizer to use? thanks for any advice

Stabilizers can help reduce vibrations. Your best bet would probably be to go to a local archery shop (not a retail store) and try out a few stabilizers. There are so many to choose from these days it's hard to recommend any one in particular. Around here the shops have them on display and will let you try them out on their range before you buy.

They are to assist you in balancing the bow and to become the focal point to absorb the vibration in your bow.(instead of your sight)They should help in reducing the noise of the bow and reducing hand shock as a result of less vibration being absorbed by the bow itself.

i know they help with noise and vibration reduction but do they help reduce the kick much? maybe im misundersting you guys. heres my deal: when you shoot my bow the bow literally jumps out of your hand, when we were setting it up in the shop the pro went to shoot it without a wrist sling just to test it out and it jupmed out of his hand and nearly all the way to the floor before he grabbed it. has anyone had a problem with this?

SD, I get what you are saying. One of the main reasons bows jump out of your hand is because they don't have enough mass weight. Nice light bows are nice for carrying, but depending on bow design they can take a heck of a jump forward upon release. And they don't aim as steady either, thus less accuracy. Adding mass weight usually helps with this. It's simply a matter of physics. It takes more oomph to move a heavier object.
