Illinois bowfishers shoot 8/7
An informal fun shoot is planned for this sat. on the Ill. river at the starve rock boat launch. Come on out anytime you want, but boat traffic gets thick after noon usually. Lots of big silver and common carp, and gar!
Another is planned for the 28th.

RE: Illinois bowfishers shoot 8/7
Ill meet ou at the ramp at 3am.....................[snicker snicker..]
Im going to try and get there early though...hopefully at daybreak. The silvers will feed in quiet water early in the am....but ill have the cell, so give me a yell when you get out there.
I was scouting while doing some catfishing, and one flew out of the water and smacked into my back last sunday! So thats probably a good spot to start!
Theres no weed growth there, you just cruise the cuts where the current slacks off near the shore. We were marking 4 ft. fish below the surface after the pleasure boaters sent them deep.....so there are lots of giants there. Getting in to get a shot is all we have to do. You also go to the sides where the wind pushes the most surface algea, and they will be feeding, especially on the sunny side .
