tc replacement barrels
i read down the posts where 777 said you can get aftermarket barrels to fit the tc hawkens. Do you know if they sell 12 ga. barrels that will fit on a tc renagade or white mountain, and do you know what the web address is for greenmountain barrel comp.

RE: tc replacement barrels
I know they sell a .62 caliber smoothbore to fit the Renegade because I have one. But I have not seen the 12 ga offfered. The .62 caliber is a 20 ga and it does shoot a nice pattern out to 30 yards. You can load it hot with 85 grains of Goex FFFg and 100 grains of #6 or #5 shot for turkey or load it down with just 65 grains of Goex FFFg and 100 grains of #6 for bunnies....
It will also shoot a .600 or .610 diameter roundball. You can patch them or load them right off the fiber wad. After the over the powder card you put a lubed fiber wad down the barrel, then the ball or shot, then an over the shot card or two and your ready to go.... I will admit that accuracy with the .62 caliber roundball is limited. I have not been able to group anything past 40 yards, and even then I was gettnig flyers. But a 324 grain roundball has a lot of thump down range....
If your looking for a 12 ga, check the CVA Optima. I heard they are coming out, or have come out, with a 12 guage model. That would make a nice inline shotgun but does not have the charm of the old sidelock gun.
Green Mountain Barrel Co. is a great place to do business with. I have a number of their barrels and everyone of them is top quality. You want a real kick is the .58 caliber that fits the large Renegade stock. That is a shooter for sure.

Yep... the 12 has been discontinued. Here's all that's left in smoothbore.

You just missed a 12 ga rep. barrel for a Hawken on Ebay. Looked like an old box but in good shape.
Not sure about the site, but go into Yahoo or Google and search Green mountain barrel.
I just picked up a 1:28 long range hunter barrel caplock for my Hawken. I have another for my flinter and it shoots great. Still waiting for my lock to come in so I can shoot the new barrel
