209 Shotshell adapter for caplock ML's
#1

Hey Folks,
Wondering if anyone knows of a 209 primer conversion for the traditional sidelock/#11 percussion ML's?
A friend was asking me and I remember seeing something on the web some time back, but did not pay much attention to it then. The unit that I remember seeing had a 209 component that threaded in where the #11 nipple does and a gizmo that attached to the hammer-face of the sidelock to ignite the 209 primer.

I've seen the T/C Firestorm 209 conversion at stores. What I'm not sure of is whether that rifle was drilled/tapped differently than all the other sidelocks in order to shoot 209s. I remember looking at the thread line of the conversion & it looked bigger than normal nipple threads. Normal sidelock nipple holes (bottom-side) should never exceed 3/16s. So I really don't see how a 209 prmer conversion can throw more igniter-power in such a small hole-opening vs a hot Splitfire nipple with hot magnum caps.

Answered my own question.
Finally remembered where I had seen this.
